Personal experience
After three years, I cycled again.
“Today I am truly free of PTSD and have now had no PNEA attacks for 23 days.”
Jack described severe PTSD and more than three years of psychogenic non-epileptic attacks. In the year before he met Mark, he experienced these episodes an average of twice a day.
He had followed several treatments, spent a week in a trauma centre and worked with a psychologist. Some of it helped, but according to Jack, the attacks and re-experiencing continued. After his three-hour intake, he had two more attacks that week.
After his first full session, again lasting three hours, Jack wrote that he had experienced no further PNEA attacks. People around him noticed that he was more open. His partner saw the change, and when he came home his four-year-old son held on to him for several minutes.
The change became tangible when Jack cycled alone again after three years and then cycled with his daughter. He could take action and set goals again, including returning to work and driving. On the day of his final session, he wrote that he had been free of PNEA attacks for 23 days and described himself as free of PTSD.
This is one person’s experience. One person’s outcome is not a promise to another.
