At the beginning of May I ended up at home. At the time, it was completely unexpected, but looking back, it had been in the air for a very long time. Simply carrying on until your body says stop—and that is what it did. Completely tense or overstressed, physically and mentally.
The osteopath I went to for my physical symptoms told me that my whole body was switched ‘on’; my brakes were broken. You are basically a head on legs and you need to move back from your head into your body. I understood exactly what he meant, but how?
I started searching for ways to move from your head back into your body and found the website of Breinhart, Mark Paasman. There are moments when everything inside you says, yes, this is right for me, and that was exactly what I felt. I have seen several psychologists in my life and although, at those times, they sometimes seemed to help, it remained psychological waffle that ultimately never truly moved me forward.
You can talk and rationalise until you are blue in the face, but somewhere in my body something always remained, and time and again there would be a moment when that trigger, or one of the many, was hit and I felt I was back at square one. It has to be different! His approach felt right and I booked an in-depth intake.
Every day I am grateful that I took that step. After that first three-hour session with Mark, it was quiet in my head for the first time in years and I caught a glimpse of who I really was without the baggage from my past. The first step back to me—I cannot describe it any better. No psychologist nonsense, but real, practical, human, scientifically grounded, without masks, direct, pure and sometimes raw, but always straight from the heart. From heart to heart!
Sessions with Mark feel like a warm, safe blanket under which you can find yourself again. They give you tools you can use for the rest of your life and that give you the lasting change you have been looking for for so long. I am convinced it does not matter what you carry in your backpack. Mark’s method ensures that you no longer drag it with you into the present or the future and that, step by step, you can let go and transform.
I can live in the present again, even when things sometimes get stormy around me. It is not the push of a button; you have to work for it, but what you get back is, as far as I am concerned, priceless. Yourself!
