When tension or fear has troubled you for a long time, you may know very well what you want to be free of. But what would you like to become possible again? That question is about the life you want to lead.
You can lose sight of what you want
Take something ordinary: receiving an invitation and looking forward to going. Perhaps, by now, you mainly think about how much energy it will take, how busy it will be and whether you can leave easily. Before you know it, you have declined again.
When that happens often, you can stop asking whether you actually want to go. You are busy enough deciding what you can manage. What you would enjoy gets put off until later. First, things need to get better.
Then it can be hard to explain what you are looking for in guidance. “Less fear” or “more peace” are understandable answers. I also want to know what that peace should make room for. What is missing from your days?
Results mean something in everyday life
What moves me in the experiences people share is that they describe things becoming possible again. Taking the initiative. Starting a course. Enjoying time with the people around them again. Those messages give a concrete picture of what change means to that person.
These are different experiences, written at different times. They do not determine your outcome. They do show why I think it matters to ask what you want to be able to do. Having fewer difficulties gains meaning in your own life.
For one person, that means going out independently again. For another, an evening with enough energy left for a conversation. It does not have to make an impressive story. If something matters to you, it deserves a place in the conversation.
Do not turn your wish into another way to judge yourself
You can be hard on yourself here too. You read that someone is doing all sorts of things again and feel that you should be able to do that by now as well. Someone else’s experience becomes a standard you measure yourself against.
I know from my own life how quickly I could raise the bar. That is exactly what I want us to be able to talk about here. A wish can show you where you want to go without making every day you are not there yet a failure.
Perhaps it is still hard to imagine what you want. Then we can start with something you miss. That may be smaller and clearer than asking what your entire future should look like.
Think of an ordinary day when you can once again do something you often avoid now. What would it be? You do not have to prove anything today. It is valuable information when you want to explore whether working with me would suit you.
